Attention, artists, doodlers, and Oktoberfest enthusiasts! It’s time to put your creativity to work for the 2025 Minster Oktoberfest Button Contest . This year marks the 51st celebration of bratwurst, beer, and all things Bavarian, and your design could be the star of the show! ��

Here’s your mission (should you choose to accept it):

1️⃣ Keep It Round: Your masterpiece needs to fit inside a 3 ½-inch circle.
2️⃣ Include the Essentials: Don’t forget these must-haves:

A Wooden Shoe (Somewhere in the design)
The Event Year: 51
The Calendar Year: 2025
The Dates: October 3, 4, & 5
The Location: Minster, Ohio (duh!)

3️⃣ Submit by May 1st: No exceptions!

Pets Are Not Permitted On Park Grounds

Per Village of Minster Resolution, only Dogs In Service / Assistance Roles, with valid paperwork, are allowed on Minster Oktoberfest park grounds this weekend.

Though we are sure your pet is a very good pet, unfortunately we can not control how every person trains and/or maintains their own pets.

For the safety of all the pets, as well as festival attendees, pets are not allowed on the premises. So, please leave your pets properly cared for, away from park grounds, while you are attending the Minster Oktoberfest.

2022 Oktoberfest 10K Classic UPDATE

REGISTRATION for the 44th Annual Minster Oktoberfest 10K is open!

Start: Minster High School at 9:30am

Finish: Corner of 4th Street and Lincoln Street in the heart of the Minster Oktoberfest!

Finisher Medals are Back as is a "No Frills" entry that does not include the finisher medal or shirt, but saves $10!

Prize money to the top 10, master's, grand master, and top Minster finishers (non-high school). Age group awards to the top 3 in each category. Team Awards to the top 3 teams as determined by cumulative time (individual times added for first 5 runners on each team).

The course is flat and fast with lots of music and fun along the way. It is part of the Run Ohio Grand Prix Series, one of the fastest 10k races in the Midwest and offers great prize money!

Prize Money:

1 place - $300

2 place - $200

3 place - $175

4 place - $150

5 place - $125

6 place - $100

7 place - $75

8 place - $50

9 place - $50

10 place - $50

$50 - 1st place male and female Masters runner

$50 - 1st place male and female Grand Master runner

$25 - 1st place non-high school runner from Minster, OH

Course records: Julius Koskei: 28:18 and Vicoty Chepngeno 31:57.

FUN RUN: The Fun Run Returns! This is a 1-mile race for the kids that starts just after the 10k. Race day signup only and only $5.

The 2022 Minster Oktoberfest Parade theme is

“Our Piece of Germany” (Unser Stück Deutschland).

The Minster Oktoberfest Parade Committee is proud to announce this year’s parade theme. After reviewing many submissions and having several debates, a tough decision was reached. The 2022 Minster Oktoberfest Parade theme is “Our Piece of Germany” (Unser Stück Deutschland) .

The Parade committee felt that this selection best captured the spirit of our community and the German Catholic heritage from where it came. Generational residents of Minster have worked hard to preserve the belief and practice of the German work ethic and continued betterment of our community for the generations to come. Just as those who came before us, we too are striving to make this event better for the future celebrants to enjoy.

The Minster Oktoberfest Parade Chairpersons would like to remind individuals, organizations, businesses that all floats judged under Commercial Float, are also eligible for “Best of Theme” Capable of winning a Plaque and $300 for first place.

There will also be awarded:

The Gemütlichkeit Award – The Parade Committee Best of Show Pick

The Mayors Award – The Unit best representing Minster’s Culture

Best Civic Organization – The best service organization

Commercial Marching Unit – Best Commercial marching unit

Rolling Stock – Best Motorized parade unit

And… “New” MAC Marching Champion – The top performing marching band parade day.

The Minster Oktoberfest Parade Committee would truly enjoy your company to assist in celebrating our Minster Heritage on October 2nd at 2pm. There will be Marching bands, performers, floats, and several representatives of surrounding communities celebrating with us or 48th Annual celebration of Heritage.

UPDATE - MAY 2021

We are planning to race as normal. There will be no refunds for 2021 registrations and no transfers to 2022 Oktoberfest 10k. We will run the race live unless the climate of COVID changes and we are mandated by the state to stop. If we are forced to cancel the live event, we will run the event as a virtual race. If we go virtual, race materials will be distributed through packet pickups, mailings and other means necessary to comply with government regulations. We thank everyone for their past, present and future support for the Minster Oktoberfest Classic 10k see you in October!

**COVID 19 UPDATE (June 1, 2020)

Currently we are planning to race as normal. As of June 1st, there will be no refunds and no transfers to 2021 Oktoberfest 10k. All registrations are for the 2020 race only. We will make every attempt to run the race live. Modifications may be required, for example the race may run with staggered starts if required (solely speculation at this point). Updates will be communicated to all registrants as we know further information. Prize money will only be rewarded if we run as a live event and based off gun start time only. If we are forced to cancel the live event, we will run the event as a virtual race. If we go virtual, race materials will be distributed through packet pickups, mailings and other means necessary to comply with government regulations. We thank everyone for their past, present and future support for the Minster Oktoberfest Classic 10k and we hope to race in October!

Super Pooper Scoopers NEEDED!

How would you like to be a Minster Oktoberfest Parade Super Pooper Scooper? All you need to be eligible for SPS detail is to be a student at Minster Local Schools. You may work alone or as part of a group.

Use your imagination! Come up with the best costume, wagon, scooper and act. Prizes of $100.00, $75.00, $50.00 will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place. Any unit not winning will receive $20.00 for their effort. Winners will be announced and awards handed out after the parade at the main judge’s stand.

Remember you are a Super Pooper Scooper. Come prepared to do a super job in scooping that poop. Anything collected along the parade route is to be put in a plastic bag and you are responsible for the disposal of your collection. Please dispose of it properly!!

Parents Please Note: All members of the group must be ready to go no later than 1:30pm. Please check in with a parade official to obtain your entry number that must be displayed on your unit. We will only have tape available. If you require anything else you must bring it with you. We ask that a parent or adult remain with the children during this time as we will not be able to monitor them. **If you have a special request for placement it must be received along with this form. Last minute requests will not be permitted.
